Project Easter Promise

REMEMBER

A year has passed since the 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti leaving the poorest nation in the western hemisphere nearly leveled. The destruction was massive: 280,000 homes, hospitals, and other structures collapsed or were severely damaged.

An estimated 316,000 lives were lost, another 300,000 were injured and 1,000,000 (yes, one million) Haitians were left homeless. Millions of dollars have been invested in rescue and relief. Now, the arduous and difficult task of rebuilding a devastated nation begins. But where do we begin?

REBUILD

The truth is that none of us can do all that needs to be done to rebuild Haiti, but every one of us can do something. In 2007, Unicef estimated that there were 280,000 orphans in Haiti, but after the earthquake that number doubled! The Bible is clear; as Christians we are responsible to care for the orphans, so we have committed to build a children’s home and school, to house and educate up to 40 orphans in the Port-au-Prince suburb of Torcel.

RESPOND

Orphaned at age 15, Pastor Bellande was adopted by a pastor. When the earthquake created 300,000 orphans last year, he and his wife’s first response was to open their hearts and their home to Haiti’s newest wave of orphans. Today they house, feed, clothe and educate twelve children but they have a deep desire to make room for up to 40 children. You can help Pastor Bellande, restore hope and rebuild the lives of Haiti’s orphans. What you give today will help create the tomorrow every child deserves.

We are rebuilding Haiti by caring for its orphans through Project Easter Promise.

Phase I, site work and building a home to care for up to 40 orphans is $60,000.
Phase II, furnishing and fully equipping the home $20,000.
